Principal’s welcome

Walkamin State School has a proud tradition of serving the Walkamin and surrounding community for over 50 years.

It is my privilege to join the distinguished list of principals who have honoured this tradition.

Our greatest asset is our sense of community. It is the size of our school which allows us the flexibility to build the relationships that create this community. It is our relationships that turn the teaching and learning at Walkamin State School into a personal activity.

Walkamin State School is a band 5 school with a population of 36 students (February, 2014)  from year prep to year 7. The school is serviced by a teaching Principal, teacher, three general aides, an administrative assistant, a cleaner and grounds-person. We also have access to a Language other than English (LOTE). teacher (Japanese), a music teacher, a physical education teacher, a learning support teacher and a guidance officer. The school consists of two multi-age class.
